What it is

What is FormaV?

FormaV® is an intravaginal treatment device from InMode that uses controlled radiofrequency (RF) energy to gently heat vaginal tissue to a target therapeutic temperature. This carefully controlled warming is designed to help stimulate the body’s natural collagen and elastin production, which may support tissue tone and quality over time.

Because FormaV is non-surgical and non-invasive, most patients find it comfortable and easy to fit into their schedules — treatments are performed in a private room, involve no incisions or downtime, and allow an immediate return to normal activities.

Who FormaV May Help

FormaV may be right for you if…

FormaV is often considered by women navigating tissue changes from aging, hormonal shifts, or childbirth — the sort of subtle concerns that don’t always warrant surgery but can affect comfort, confidence, and quality of life.

Vaginal laxity

If you feel a sense of looseness or reduced tone — often noticeable after childbirth or with aging — FormaV is designed to support tissue quality through collagen stimulation.

Vaginal dryness & GSM symptoms

Women experiencing symptoms of genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) — including dryness, discomfort, or intimate irritation — may find FormaV helpful as part of a broader approach.

Mild stress incontinence

For mild stress urinary incontinence (leaking with coughing, sneezing, or exercise), FormaV may support the vaginal wall tissue that surrounds the urethra as part of an overall care plan.

Overall feminine wellness

Women focused on preventive care and long-term vaginal tissue health may consider FormaV as part of a personalized feminine wellness plan.

The Technology

How radiofrequency energy works

FormaV uses bipolar radiofrequency (RF) energy to gently and precisely heat vaginal tissue to a target therapeutic temperature. The device includes real-time temperature monitoring to keep the treatment within a safe, therapeutic range throughout the session.

This controlled warming is designed to trigger the body’s natural repair response — encouraging fibroblasts (the cells that make collagen and elastin) to produce new, healthier tissue over the weeks that follow. Because collagen remodeling is a biological process, results develop gradually and continue to build in the weeks after treatment.

Session Plan

A short, personalized series

FormaV is most effective when performed as a series. Your provider will recommend a personalized plan based on your individual goals and the specific concerns being addressed — typically spaced a few weeks apart to allow the collagen remodeling process to progress between sessions.

Each session is relatively brief and most patients tolerate the treatment well. Because RF works by stimulating your body’s natural tissue renewal, results continue to develop for weeks after your final session — this is completely normal.

Setting Expectations

FormaV is not a substitute for surgery

FormaV is designed to support tissue quality and tone — but it is not equivalent to surgical vaginal rejuvenation and will not correct significant anatomical concerns. For more advanced tissue changes or moderate-to-severe incontinence, surgical options like labiaplasty, vaginal rejuvenation, or a mini-arc sling may be more appropriate.

Individual results vary, and FormaV may not be right for every patient. During consultation, Dr. Gabal will evaluate your goals and help you understand which treatment — or combination of treatments — is likely to serve you best.

Often Better Together

FormaV + VTone

FormaV and VTone are companion InMode treatments that address different aspects of feminine wellness — and many women benefit from combining them.

RF · This Page

FormaV (RF)

Tissue quality: Uses radiofrequency heat to stimulate collagen production — supporting the vaginal wall tissue itself.

Addresses: laxity, dryness, GSM symptoms, tissue tone.

EMS · Companion

VTone (EMS)

Muscle strength: Uses electrical muscle stimulation to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles — the muscles that support the bladder and pelvic organs.

Addresses: stress & urge incontinence, pelvic floor weakness.

Since FormaV works on tissue and VTone works on muscles, they complement each other in the same way that skin care and strength training work on different systems in the body. Ask about combined treatment plans during your consultation.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does FormaV feel like?
Most patients describe FormaV as a gentle, comfortable warming sensation. Because the device continuously monitors temperature in real time, the RF energy stays within a safe therapeutic range throughout the session. Your provider will adjust the treatment to your comfort level.
Is there any downtime?
No downtime is required. Most patients return to normal activities — including work and exercise — immediately after their session. Your provider will discuss any specific guidance about intimacy or bathing following treatment.
When will I see results?
Because FormaV works by stimulating your body’s natural collagen production, results develop gradually over weeks and months. Some patients begin to notice improvement after the initial series; results continue to build in the weeks that follow. Individual results vary.
How is FormaV different from MonaLisa Touch?
FormaV uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to gently warm tissue and stimulate collagen. MonaLisa Touch uses a fractional CO2 laser to create microscopic zones of controlled thermal injury that trigger tissue renewal. Both aim to address feminine wellness concerns but work through different mechanisms. During consultation, Dr. Gabal will help you understand which approach — or which combination — may be right for you.
Can I combine FormaV with other treatments?
Yes — often. FormaV pairs particularly well with VTone (which works on the pelvic floor muscles rather than the tissue) and may complement other feminine wellness treatments. Your personalized care plan will be discussed during consultation.
Is FormaV a substitute for surgery?
No. FormaV is designed to support tissue quality — it is not a replacement for surgical treatments such as vaginal rejuvenation, labiaplasty, or incontinence surgery. For more advanced concerns, surgical options may be more appropriate. Dr. Gabal will help you understand what’s realistic for your specific situation.
