What is SculpSure?

SculpSure is a unique body contouring tool that helps to remove fatty deposits in the abdomen, back, and thighs. Treatments are approximately 25 minutes long and are non-invasive. The technique involves heating the tissue in the area to be treated to between 42 and 47 degrees Celsius. The surface of the skin is cooled both before and after the treatment to maintain maximum comfort for the patient. The applicator used in the process has a flat surface and does not create any form of suction. The treatment is FDA-approved and can be used to help reduce troublesome areas where body fat tends to accumulate.

How is SculpSure used?

The SculpSure® procedure involves the use of a flat applicator that introduces a laser directly into the problem areas where the fat is to be removed. The tissues are heated to approximately 45 degrees Celsius. The procedure is non-invasive and causes little to no discomfort to the patient. Treatments last approximately 25 minutes each, during which the patient rests comfortably. The lasers are guided along the areas in which the fatty deposits are most prominent, breaking up the fatty tissues and helping to flush them from the body. In some cases, an almost 24 percent reduction in the amount of fat is achieved in certain areas.

What are the side effects of SculpSure?

The procedure is non-invasive, so there is very little risk of infection. As with any treatment option that involves the use of lasers, skin irritation and mild tenderness may be present. The patient can return to their normal activities in just a few days, and they are not required to take any time off of work to allow the area to heal. The surface of the area where the laser was used may be slightly red or pinkish in color for a few days after the procedure. The patient will normally not experience any of the symptoms associated with liposuction or other procedures of that nature that involve the physical removal of fatty deposits.
