“There’s no such thing as a dumb question when you’re considering a serious medical protocol. Every man deserves complete information before deciding.”

Below are the 20 most common questions men ask us at Prestige Medical Group before starting the P-Long® Protocol. If your question isn’t here, call us at (949) 825-7650 — we’re happy to answer directly.

📊 Peer-Reviewed Clinical Evidence
The P-Long protocol has been studied and published in a peer-reviewed medical journal.
Brandeis J, Lu S, Runels C. (2023). Increasing Penile Length and Girth in Healthy Men Using a Novel Protocol: The P-Long Study. Andrology: Open Access. 12:293. — showed mean length gain 0.805″ and girth gain 0.469″ at 6 months, with 100% of participants reporting improved erectile function.

The Basics

Questions 1-4
1. What is the P-Long Protocol?
P-Long is a physician-supervised protocol combining PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injections with structured traction therapy to stimulate natural tissue remodeling for length enhancement. Unlike surgical approaches, it works with your body’s own regenerative mechanisms over 6-12 months.
2. How does P-Long actually work?
PRP delivers concentrated growth factors that signal cells to repair and regenerate. Traction provides gentle sustained tension that directs how new tissue forms. Together they leverage two well-established biological mechanisms. Read the full science behind P-Long.
3. Is P-Long a surgery?
No. P-Long is a non-surgical protocol. No incisions, no general anesthesia, no operating room. Injections are performed in-office with topical numbing.
4. How is P-Long different from other enhancement options?
Surgical approaches involve incisions and downtime. Fillers offer immediate girth but no length gain. Extenders alone can produce modest results over long periods. P-Long combines PRP’s biological signaling with traction’s mechanical signal for coordinated tissue remodeling — a regenerative approach rather than an implant.

Safety & Side Effects

Questions 5-8
5. Is P-Long safe?
P-Long is considered safe when performed by an experienced physician. PRP uses your own blood — eliminating rejection risk. Traction therapy is well-studied and used in Peyronie’s disease treatment. Dr. Gabal reviews your medical history to identify contraindications before beginning.
6. What are the side effects?
Common short-term effects include mild bruising, swelling, or tenderness at injection sites for 3-5 days. Traction may cause temporary skin marking or mild soreness. Serious side effects are uncommon. Report any concerning symptoms to our team.
7. Does P-Long hurt?
Topical numbing is applied before PRP injections. Most patients report pressure or minor discomfort rather than pain. Traction wear should not be painful — a mild stretching sensation is normal.
8. Can P-Long cause damage?
When performed by a qualified physician with proper technique, and when the traction protocol is followed correctly, P-Long has an excellent safety profile. Improper extender use (excessive tension, wearing while sleeping, ignoring warning signs) can cause harm — which is why our extender use guide is essential reading.

Results & Timeline

Questions 9-12
9. How long until I see results?
Most patients notice subtle changes at around month 4, visible results around month 4, and peak results at 6-12 months. Full timeline: P-Long results timeline.
10. How much length can I expect to gain?
Results vary significantly by individual. Factors include starting anatomy, tissue quality, age, and — most importantly — adherence to the daily traction protocol. Dr. Gabal will set realistic expectations for your specific situation at consultation.
11. Are the results permanent?
P-Long results are considered long-lasting when the full protocol is followed. Because the length gain comes from actual tissue remodeling (not filler that dissolves), it’s designed to be a durable outcome. Individual results vary.
12. What if I don’t see results?
If you’re not seeing progress at the month 4 check-in, Dr. Gabal will assess adherence, traction technique, and biology. Adjustments to the protocol can be made. Some men respond more slowly and see gains later in the timeline.

Cost & Logistics

Questions 13-16
13. How much does P-Long cost?
Cost varies based on your specific protocol needs. Contact us at (949) 825-7650 for current pricing. The P-Max™ package (P-Long + girth enhancement) typically offers savings vs. booking separately.
14. Does insurance cover P-Long?
P-Long is considered an elective enhancement procedure and is not typically covered by insurance. Ask about financing options at your consultation — we work with several patient financing partners.
15. How many appointments will I need?
Typically a series of PRP injections every 6-8 weeks over about 6 months, plus follow-up check-ins to assess progress. Traction wear happens at home daily. Dr. Gabal will outline your specific schedule at consultation.
16. How long is each appointment?
PRP appointments typically take 60-90 minutes total — including blood draw, PRP preparation (spinning), numbing time, and injection. Plan to be at the office for 1.5 hours.

Medical Details

Questions 17-20
17. Am I a good candidate for P-Long?
Good candidates are healthy adult men committed to daily traction wear who understand the multi-month timeline. Contraindications may include certain blood disorders, active infections, or conditions affecting healing. Dr. Gabal will evaluate you individually.
18. Can I still have sex during the protocol?
In most cases yes, with some restrictions in the days following each PRP injection. Dr. Gabal will provide specific guidance based on your protocol phase.
19. Can I combine P-Long with other treatments?
Yes. Many men combine P-Long with the P-Shot for improved sexual function, or with P-Thick for combined length + girth (the P-Max package). Some also add shockwave therapy or peptides. Dr. Gabal will design an integrated plan.
20. What’s the first step to get started?
Schedule a private consultation with Dr. Lamia Gabal. She’ll evaluate your candidacy, discuss goals, and design a protocol for you. Call (949) 825-7650 or book online.
